Coronavirus Pandemic | School Closures | Day 2 | Kids Activity Ideas
Today marks the second day of statewide School Closures in the State of Maryland due to the Coronavirus Pandemic Crisis that our nation and the world is facing.
During this national emergency, school closures and unprecedented circumstances; kids will be home and they will have many questions about the current events. Perhaps we are not sure on what and how much information we should share with them appropriate with their age.
I try to keep my 11 year old informed but away from news and media as the nature of the events we are facing are tragedies that a young sole should not be concern with. Meanwhile we can teach them the best practices that will positively impact the health of individual and the community.
This is the time to talk more about giving and supporting our neighbors.
Do we know how in our neighborhood might need assistance or if any elders are alone and might need help? if not, maybe we should check.
I will share with you some educational & fun activities or resources during these crises in hopes to keep our kids learning and active.
Here are some games and activities ideas that will encompass physical wellness, mindfulness, problem solving, self awareness and creativity!
- Obstacle Course
- Plant in the Garden
- Scavenger Hunt
- Write an Autobiography
- Write a Story
